Hello hello!

The track and field team is looking for 5 official helpers from phoenix, as requested by Infinity Milers (organisers for track and field competition). Anyone free on 7th October at 7pm and can lend a helping hand please let us know :) Thanks!

Also, we are deperately looking for 4x100 and 4x400 runners for both male and female. Also needed are 800m female runners and 1500m male and female runners. I won't entertain texts asking whether u are still allowed to collect your house t-shirt, when and where you can collect. (coz my phone bills aren't paid for by the house and if u know my field of work, I've been making enough calls on my own expense for our House =) hope u guys understand.) So..

Yes, u are still allowed to collect your house t-shirt provided that you:

1. give me a call to arrange the date and time for shirt collection (and make sure that u turn up)
2. Text me after the call (FULL name, batch and size)-if text is not received, request will be ignored.

2. Sports - need more participants. Please sign up for anything in which you might be interested. Ability/experience doesn't matter, participation is fun in itself!

3. House T-shirts can be collected this Thursday (20 Aug) at the Atrium from 12-2 p.m.

Look..you don't need any experience. Just come for practices and get yourself trained. If we have too many members, we will probably do a selection. Otherwise, just play your part in contributing. We DID NOT mention that u MUST BE GOOD. It's all about the fUN! Anyways, you will never know what you can play till u try. So.... JUST JOIN US! ^^

Btw, I never knew how to play touch rugby...now I know.. At least a little. It does not involve body contact at all! So girls, do consider this game.

For those super intellectual people...high IQ...
Scrabble, Chess, Debate??? C'mon.. Have faith in yourself! As a Phoenixian, nothing is impossible!

FAITH is most crucial

Hey all~

regarding the matter that some people are dissatisfied with the house, reps, committee members etc... I have once mentioned that you should EMAIL to us and not make public appearances/lectures. We are open in accepting comments and rectify from there, not making confrontations.

Any further comments, do email us from now on. We always appreciate constructive criticism and Phoenix will definitely try to improve. Moreover, do not blame the reps coz all u people who thinks u're better did not turn up for the first Official House Meeting (OHM) and hence couldnt elect you to become reps. Those people who are representing are those who have the faith in Phoenix and try to grab at LEAST a bronze if not more.

Have u trusted the house enough? No matter what quality u are...have u tried your best before losing faith?

FULL NAME and BATCH together with ur t-shirt SIZE asap if u do not wish to obtain an undesired size. You may also choose to place ur T-shirt size on the list that we'll be putting up on the notice board Tuesday onwards. Do spread the word about this. ^^

For girls, u may choose to have the normal S, M, L, XL, XXL, XXXL

Hey guys!!! I am here to remind everyone about the date for bowling try-out. As everyone had agreed. The second bowling try-out will be held as below:

Time: 1pm (Meet in front of IMU)
Date: 17 June 2009
Day: Wednesday
On that day, 3 games will be played and the 5 players will be selected to play for phoenix house. So, all players must get prepared and give it ur best! Good luck, everyone!!! Hey Sports/Games Reps,

If u havent read the minutes that Jen Hong has sent you guys via email, please do so. All meeting minutes are important so that u are able to keep track of the current on-goings of each department. However I wanna highlight a point from our meeting being the division of work we've delegated amongst the core committee members. They are respectively in charge of several sports reps, to liaise with them regarding any trainings or problems etc, making announcements or rather requiring assistance. Some may also have sent u emails to inform u regarding this so pls reply emails in order to let us know that u've received them. Your cooperation is deeply appreciated.

Volleyball training CANCELLED

Sorry guys but the volleyball training scheduled for the 3rd of June has been cancelled due to our volleyball reps being unavailable to coordinate the training. It'll be postponed to another time instead.

Logo & Cheerleading Meeting

Hey all~

I've submitted our logo to SSD based on the majority of votes we were able to obtain. Logo (a) will be used. We know that it may be unfair that some people did not get to vote but that is the best that we could do since we were working with a tight schedule.

Cheerleaders
Apologies to fellow Cheerleading members on the last minute cancellation of our meeting that was supposed to be held at 3pm today since the people in charge were unable to make it due to some circumstances. Meeting has therefore been postponed to next Monday, 01/06/09 at 12.30pm. We will be meeting at 1st floor, outside old SRC. Those of you who are interested to join us but wont be able to make it at the allocated time, please do let me know by email.

Stylised logo deadline!!!

Hello everyone, we were informed that we have a deadline to meet to submit the stylised logo design (for T-shirt and house sticker, a simplified version of Phoenix) and it is this Friday, 29/5/09. That means that we're working on a very short time limit here! And unfortunately, our design rep Patricia Tan from M207 is having exams now.

We're gonna put some versions of phoenix logos up for a poll as soon as possible. Please vote for the one you think best for our house! And this logo is gonna be permanent, so yeah, vote wisely...

Anyone who's interested in submitting any designs to us please do so, quick! The more, the merrier! Credit will be given to the logo designer. You're all welcome to add any suggestions for the logo or even the banner image too.

For those who have exams, all the best! For those who just finished exams, start preparing for the next semester...

Bowling tryouts

Ok, the 1st bowling try-out is confirmed to be on 3.30pm on 22 May at Endah Parade. For those who don't have any transport,We will meet in front IMU at 3.30pm first and go there by cab. Do wear socks and bring your student ID (to get cheaper price for bowling games). Since cheerleading carries a large weightage of the house's scores, we would hope to have an awesome cheerleading team with the maximum amount of people. We hope as many of you Phoenix-ians will join as possible, contribute to the lead of this house. It doesnt take you to have experience to be cheerleaders, but it's definitely better if you have. To those who dont have any experience, screw the experience! Just give us ur names, YOU'RE IN! We'll train U! =D

So please do our house a favor. Submit your names to our Cheerleading Rep, Atharina Julai by Mon, 18th May 09 by emailing her. Feel free to forward us any questions if you need any extra information. Email available on I-drive.
There will then be a meeting on Wed, 20th May 09 for the confirmed participants which venue and time will be further informed.

Regarding Try Outs

People~

Hold ur horses! For the time being, we will be planning on the date for a meeting with ALL SPORTS/GAMES REPS and come out with a schedule for all related tryouts.
This is to make sure that any House tryouts/practices are organized systematically, avoiding conflicts and confusions as we might unconsciously leave out potential players who are still unaware of the current on-goings of the House due to hecticness from exam preparation.

We hope that each and every member of the House be informed of ALL TRYOUT DATES, therefore needing this meeting. Hopefully something will materialize a.s.a.p. We'll keep u guys updated.

House Core Committee Meeting

Just to let everyone know, after a meeting today,

We have been told that we'll be given a house sticker each for identity purposes. This is so that nobody will be able to change houses, playing for other houses.
But as you can see, IMU is such a big institution, nonetheless there will still be some mischievious people who wanna switch houses. We just hope that nobody from our house would do that coz we're such a COOL house that everyone wants to join our house instead. =D

Anyway, so about the sticker, it's suppose to be pretty durable.
Meant to be stuck on the reverse of our ID card.
Not suppose to remove after sticking. And...
Each person will only receive ONE sticker.
There will be no such thing as replacements... but with valid reasons like, if u lost your ID together with it... then well, we gotta write in to SAD. But don't be so clumsy okay people?

Anyways, the purpose for the sticker is to identify who's in which house and for registration of players just before any sport/game begins.

For your info, formal notices and announcements (e.g. training times etc) will be made available in I-Drive as soon as we've activated our folder besides being obtainable from our Fb group and blog.
